As an incorporated association, and in accordance with the Associations Incorporation Act 1987, OOTA is required to maintain a register of members containing their names and postal or residential addresses. For ease of communication OOTA also requests and, where provided, maintains a record of members' telephone numbers and email addresses. Any member is entitled to inspect the register by contacting the Secretary.

The OOTA website does not record any member's personal information.

OOTA issues a fortnightly newsletter called Network Tuesday that is emailed to all members. From time to time additional emails may be sent promoting specific events and activities.
